Q. | Last week I attended a USTRC event and was told
I had won a Regional Finals Shoot-Out position. What does this mean? |
A. |
Winning a
Shoot-Out position means you have won the right to rope against a select few
other Shootout winners, in a special roping.
These are the most lucrative ropings in the country and are loaded with
added money. The USTRC office keeps
track of all Shoot-Out winners and notifies you by letter and by posting
winners in the SuperLooper Magazine. It is your responsibility to enter the
roping itself. The USTRC rulebook,
Section 4, contains detailed information regarding how you can and cannot use
your Shoot-Out Position. |
|

Q. |
I recently
won a Regional Shoot-Out position. This
is the first such position I have won. My
partner, on the other hand, has already won two other Regional Shoot-Outs
positions in the same division. The win
with me makes it the third Regional Shoot-Out position he has won in this
division. What can I do? |
A. |
If you are the third partner with which a Regional
Shoot-Out position was won, and your partner can only attend one Regional
Finals event, thereby preventing you from being able to use the one won with
you, your partner may forfeit his side of the Shoot-Out to you, thereby
allowing you to pick up another partner to enter the Regional Shoot-Out. |
|
Q. |
I recently received a letter in the mail informing
me that I have won a Regional Shoot-Out position.
What do I need to do now? |
A. |
The letter is verification of the Regional Shoot-Out
position you have won. Refer to the
SuperLooper Magazine for the information and entry form of the Regional Finals
event you wish to enter. Complete the
entry form in its entirety, all ID#'s, list where the Shoot-out was won.
It is very important that you know that just
because you earned a Shoot-Out position you are not automatically entered.
The responsibility to enter the event of
your choosing falls upon you and your partner's shoulders. |
|
Q. |
I just received a classification increase, my
partner and I had won a Regional Finals Shoot-Out position in the #6
division. We now add up to a #7 division,
but my partner already has two other Regional Shoot-Out positions in the
#7. What can I do? |
A. |
You and your partner may use the Regional Shoot-Out
in the #8 division. If you do not feel
you are competitive in the #8 division, you may split and each of you may pick
a partner and enter the #6 division or higher.
But an explanation must accompany your entry form. |
|
Q. | a. I won a
#10 generic Regional Shoot-Out position;
- OR -
b. I received a classification
increase and my partner and I are now a #10 team.
Which Regional Shoot-Out division do we enter? |
A. |
If the
combination of both handicaps, including the number increase, does not add up
to the number of an existing division, you and your partner may split and bring
a substitute partner. The substitute partner
must be a current USTRC member, and have attended a qualification event during
the year. |
|
Q. |
The partner I won my Regional Shoot-Out position
with is not going to any Regional Shoot-Out Finals.
What can I do? |
A. |
Your partner needs to notify the USTRC National
office that he/she is forfeiting the Shoot-out position to you.
Then you may substitute a partner.
The substitute partner must be a current
USTRC member and have attended a USTRC qualification roping. |
|
Q. |
How do I enter a Regional Shoot-Out Finals event? |
A. |
The USTRC Regional Finals events is a Pre-enter
event. It is important to look in the
SuperLooper Magazine for information, deadline date, entry fees
and entry forms for these events.
Once you have the proper entry form, it is
important to fill out the entry form completely.
Include all information, such as where you won the Regional
Shoot-Out and all identifications numbers. |
|
Q. |
What are personal earnings, and how do I find out
what my personal earnings are? |
A. | To
check your personal earnings go to Member Services and follow the prompts,
or call the National Office at 254-968-0002. You may accumulate personal earnings in
all of the following ways: (1) all
winnings at an approved USTRC sanctioned, sectional, or affiliate event that do
not directly result in a Regional or National Shoot-Out position; (2) All money
won at any "add-on" roping at a sanctioned USTRC
event; (3) All money won at the USTRC
Challenge Arena.
Every $2000 in
personal earnings results in a
Regional Shoot-Out position
and every $6000 in
personal
earnings results in a National Shoot-Out position.

|
Q. |
How do I enter the Regional Shoot-Out Finals event
using my personal earnings? |
A. | Contained
within the SuperLooper Magazine is an entry form for the Regional Shoot-Out
Finals. When using personal earnings to
enter a shoot-out, please indicate such in the check box provided.
It is very important to indicate whose
personal earnings you are using to eliminate any misunderstandings in the
future. When using your personal earnings
you need to list your earnings on a separate piece of paper.
Once you have used your personal earnings to
claim a Regional Shoot-Out the $2000 is subtracted from your total personal
earnings. The remaining balance is
carried over from year to year. |
